AGRISCIENCE FAIR
Richard "Dick" Wallrath has invested more than $1.5 million in the young people of the Texas FFA to date. This level of giving makes him the all-time largest donor in the 77-year history of the Texas FFA. His name will echo in perpetuity, and eternity, thanks to his generosity. Many communities, the Lone Star State, and this country will be a better place to live, work and raise our families as a result of his support and investment in the young people of Texas.
The Agriscience Student Program recognizes high school students who are studying the application of scientific principles and emerging technologies in the agricultural industry. The program provides scholarships to FFA members planning to pursue a college degree in agricultural science while helping to provide a reliable supply of Agriscience graduates to meet the private and public agribusiness sectors' needs.
All state winners are recognized during Texas FFA Convention on stage and presented with a $1,000 scholarship and plaque. These awards have been permanently endowed by Dick Wallrath.
Members must submit an application and go through an interview process at the area level in order to be selected for Texas FFA scholarships. Each area association submits scholarship finalists to the state scholarship committee for final scholarship application review and interview.
To find out more about Agriscience Fair scholarships and the application process, visit the Texas FFA website. Please contact your local FFA advisor to determine local deadlines for submitting an application.
If you are an Agriscience Fair scholarship recipient, your funds are administered by the Texas FFA Foundation. Please contact the following for information about having your scholarship funded to your college/university:
