The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ is one of the Southwest’s largest charities, benefiting more than 1,500 young Texans each year. The Show has been entertaining and educating millions of fans since 1932, bringing a love of the land, agricultural roots and Western heritage to an increasingly urban population.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ began providing scholarships to Texas FFA members in 1964. Since then, they have assisted hundreds of Texas FFA members accomplish their educational goals. In 2006, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ awarded 70 members with $12,000 scholarships. The Texas FFA is very grateful for such amazing support.
Members must submit an application and go through an interview process at the area level in order to be selected for Texas FFA scholarships. Each area association submits scholarship finalists to the state scholarship committee for final scholarship application review and interview.
