COMMUNITY AGRICULTURE RESOURCE NETWORK

Will establish a network to provide regional leadership to coordinate a community consortium focused on supplying agricultural education and outreach services to Texas communities. An endowment of $3.5 million is needed to produce income to support regional staff providing much needed outreach to assist students, teachers and affiliate organizations with materials and resources to ensure the continuation of comtemporary agricultural education in Texas.

CONTEMPORARY CURRICULUM

A fund of $3 million will provide the financial resources for programs to help students grow professionally and personally. Our young people will become the bridge between where we are today and where we will be tomorrow...to continually change our agricultural education curriculum to ensure it addresses the challenges of change...to enable our young adults to embrace new innovation and population changes.

HANDS-ON LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

This $1 million fund will provide hands-on, out-of-the-classroom learning opportunities. Real experiences, in a mentorship environment, will enhance the agricultural education classroom experience.

SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT

$3 million will generate sufficient income to sustain annual scholarship grants approaching $300,000. Students who might otherwise be unable to achieve their higher educational goals will have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATIVE RESOURCE FUND

The goal is to build a technology and resource fund of $1 million. The fund will produce income to ensure that organizational activities stay at the leading edge of technology development. Expenditures in this area will result in upgrades in technology and material benefiting students throughout Texas.

TEXAS FFA FORD LEADERSHIP BUILDING

A new, state-of-the-art facility houses the Texas Ag Ed Family. This provides a command center to ensure coordination and cooperation between all members of the "ag education family" as well as providing a "gathering center" for those businesses providing funds, support and services for ag education in Texas. Construction cost of the facility is $1.5 million.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES

The return on a $2 million investment will be allocated to fund those opportunities / challenges not evident, but we know will emerge in today's fast-paced agricultural environment.
